     Global Fund for Women: General Fund Announcement.

DESCRIPTION (FUND)
     The Global Fund for Women is a grantmaking foundation that
     provides assistance to grassroots women's organizations
     outside the United States. The Global Fund focuses primarily
     on female human rights and has supported groups working on
     issues that include: women's political participation and
     leadership; poverty and economic autonomy; reproductive
     freedom; women's and children's health; the rights of sexual
     minorities; environmental degradation; education; and the
     prevention of violence against women. HIV/AIDS organizations
     are supported if they meet the other criteria.

     Eligible organizations must demonstrate a clear commitment
     to women's equality and female human rights and be governed
     and directed by women. Applicants must be endorsed by the
     Global Fund's Advisory Council members or by other people
     known to and trusted by the Global Fund. Grant requests can
     be submitted in whatever form convenient to groups and are
     accepted in any language.
