SEAMEO TROPMED likewise publishes the Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical
Medicine and Public Health. Subscriptions and technical paper
contributions are welcomed.
CHASPPAR (Control of HIV/STD/AIDS Partnership Project in the Asia Region)
is a regional cooperation project of SEAMEO TROPMED and the German
Technical Cooperation Agency which focuses on strengthening preventive
services in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Nepal and the Philippines. CHASPPAR
interphases with other AIDS-related programs under the umbrella of
SEAMEO TROPMED.
CHASPPAR consists of two components namely: (1) projects complementing the
National AIDS Control Program in each partner country and (2) regional
activities (training workshops, consultative meetings, etc.). The project
is on its second year of operation. Future initiatives aim to deal with
migration and cross-border issues, harm reduction strategies, policy
issues, and community-based care, including promotion and support of
self-help group activities.
