[From the SEA-AIDS Conference at: sea-aids@lists.inet.co.th. - Mod.]

As a follow up to the work done in Vancouver and in anticipation of the
upcoming 4th International Conference on AIDS in ASIA and the Pacific, we
are compiling updates on business initiatives in the region. For example,
Levi Strauss international launched a large initiative in 1996 to promote
training and education about HIV, enhance community involvement, promote
new internal alliances within the company and promote corporate
socialresponsibility about HIV/AIDS. Are there other similar large
transnational or national business initiatives which are in place which
the subscribers are aware of? Opinions on efficacy or areas for
improvement are also helpful.

Please reply to me at akimball@u.washington.edu or to Marielese Villaceran
at mlizebv@u.washington.edu. Thank you for your contribution to this
effort.
