PROCAARE: RFI--Ramadan and fasting

My advice during Ramadhan is that the fast includes:
*Plenty of fluids and especially fresh fruit juices.
*Also plenty of green and coloured vegetables.
Both these provide adequate antioxidants to mop up free radicals.
*Avoid heavy fatty foods as these overtax the liver and produce various
metabolites and nitrogenous compounds of uncertain effects at a time when
we need optimal immunological boosting.
*Finally a regular gentle walk coupled with a period of meditation assists
in stimulation of much needed neurochemicals such as Endorphins.

We also use the time to make a wider appeal for HIV awareness in various
Moslem community sectors. What a better time to do this as then when the
spiritual appeal is at its zenith?
