In order for option even to be considered by a pharmacy the med would have to
be in unopened original container - We are not aware of any pharmacy based
operation which could legally reuse or even donate - I doubt if you will
find anyone willing to process partial containers or in other than original
bottles. This is not much help to you I know - sorry.

This is a common situation in a clinic I'm familiar with, and I wonder if
anyone can help me with it. A patient gets a prescription filled for some
expensive medication, then discovers that s/he is intolerant to it, or
allergic, or whatever. The patient, knowing that the drug cost a fortune,
brings the remainder back in to try and donate it to someone who needs it
but can't afford it. I understand that US law forbids re-issue of drugs
to other patients, but it seems wasteful to just dispose of them.

It seems that I read on this listserver that there were companies in
existence that could legally re-distribute medications? If any subscriber
has contact information on such companies, I could share it with my
clinic colleagues.
