Medical Consequences of Ramadan

Last year Prescrire International (August 1996/vol 5 no 24)  published an
article on the medical consequences of Ramadan.

The article addresses the effects of fasting on diseases including
insulin-dependent and non insulin dependent diabetes, gastroduodenal ulcer,
effects of Ramadan on pregnant and breast-feeding women, the need to adjust
drug treatment etc.

The article also discusses the attitudes to disease during Ramadan and the
attitudes of health professionals.

It is four page article with 29 references. I would be happy to send a
paper copy to anyone who is interested in this topic. I cannot send you the
