Water quality and HIV infection

Hello,

I am wondering if there is any evidence that early infection/illness in HIV positive
patients has an influence on the onset of "full-blown" AIDS? I am working on a project in
Botswana which is looking at the possibility of water quality (through diarrhea)
influencing the "incubation" time of HIV to AIDS.

Thank you,
