I agree with the comments on the difficulties associated with electronic discussions on
the issues. One way to get out of this is to consider developing a print documentation or
a website page as parallel options...The issues are so important and enriching to the
efforts on the ground and we should learn to use these experiences in improving the
program approaches and methodologies.

I agree entirely with Caroline Maposhere's arguments about the need for a gender analysis
in HCC. ILO and UNIFEM are working on a joint programme to address the burden of care for
women workers - whether in paid or unpaid work, formal or informal sector work.
The idea is to address (not only analyse) the impact of care on income security, social
protection, voice and representation and rights. I would be very pleased to have a more
specific dialogue with Ms Maposhere about our programme, and share some ideas about how to
MITIGATE the impact - not just understand it better.
