Stem Cell Research and Cloning T-Cells

*********

Hello,

I had a quick question that I wanted to post out to the community. I speak out of total
ignorance, so please forgive me if this question has
been asked before or if it is impossible.

I was wondering if it might be possible to use stem cell research to generate a cloned
supply of clean T-cells (and other WBCs as necessary) that could then be reinserted into
HIV patients to help them combat the disease. I was further wondering if the cloned cells
could be altered prior to bodily insertion, vaccinated in vitro so speak, so as to prep
them to combat HIV in an infected person's system.

This would, I think, be in essence a combination of currently used treatments, linked with
innovations in cloning and stem cell research.

What do people think? Is this viable?
