**************
Forum Members,
Do any of you have information on community-based administration of antiretroviral
medication for HIV care in resource poor settings?
In 2001 the Hesperian Foundation published HIV Health and Your Community a guide for
community health workers dealing with the HIV pandemic. The book is currently being
revised and updated.
In the subsequent edition we would like to include examples of successful community based
administration of antiretroviral medications, and create a guide to aid those who are
planning to dispense anti-HIV drugs.
If you have any suggestions on how we can learn more about such endeavors, or if you
directly know of such examples, please let us know.
Obtaining accounts of community based management of antiretroviral medications will ensure
that our educational materials are most effective and salient to the people that use them.
For more information about HIV Health and Your Community and other Hesperian publications
please visit our website listed below.
Thank you for your time and consideration
Sincerely,
Simon Merit
