New HIV/AIDS dossier
- SciDev.Net
********
Dear colleague,
When you registered with SciDev.Net you expressed an interest in HIV/AIDS. We have just launched a range of new in-depth materials on the latest scientific and technological advances to combat HIV/AIDS in developing countries. Articles include perspectives from the South, with an overview of HIV research in Brazil and microbicides research in South Africa forming two of the new opinion pieces.

By bringing together topical coverage and background resources, this in-depth guide charts recent developments and indicates promising new avenues of research. It includes relevant news, feature and opinion articles, together with annotated links to essential reading and other HIV/AIDS organisations.
'Key documents' come from a variety of sources: peer-reviewed scientific journals (including Nature and Science ), international agencies, research sponsors, and campaign groups. They are either freely available on the Internet, or granted access by special permission.
Latest opinion articles:

Vaccine research needs to cover all bases

To address the urgency of the HIV crisis, says Mauro Schechter, vaccine researchers must pursue clinical trials as well as basic science, testing vaccines for both prevention and therapy.
